Position Description:
The main duty of this position is to write posts for the main blog on the site. You will usually have to do your own research but you may be asked to write posts and/or do more research based on specific information or articles found by senior staff. You will be expected to let senior staff know about any topics you plan to post on the blog, or any information you have found about Jake Epstein that has not been posted on the site already. If you find additional information to a post previously made on the site, you are also asked to contact senior staff. More details may be given to you upon application.
Requirements:
- It is preferred that you are 18 years or older, but no one younger than 16 will be considered. The reason for this is high school may get too much in the way. Please do not lie about your age!
- You must have strong English reading, writing, and grammar skills.
- You must provide an example of your writing, preferably a current weblog (of any type, but must have appropriate (pg rated) content).
- Knowledge of HTML and Web Design is not required, but would be an asset for further promotion within the site.
Application Process:
Please email Keira with the subject line JakeEpstein.net Reporter Application and include the following content:
- Name/Nickname – Please provide a real name or a nickname that people actually call you. Last names are not required. You do not need to use your real name if you do not want to be called that, but aliases like Jake_Epstein_Fan12345 or HoTtIe987, etc will not be deleted without being looked over.
- Email Address – Yes, your email address will obviously be included in the email but we want to make sure that it is the correct address for contacting you.
- Birth date – including year. If you do not include the year you were born you will not considered for the position.
- Location – Please include the year you were born, along with your birthday, as I would like proof that you are over 16. As stated above, being 16 is not a requirement, but it is preferred. I do not want liars to be a part of this site; so if you are under 16 but want to be considered, please do not lie about your age. I promise I will still put you up consideration even if you are under 16. If you do not include the year you were born you will not considered for the position.
- Example of Your Writing – Please include a link to a blog you write on. This can be any type of blog or website (personal, or community) that you write regularly on. If other people write on it, please provide either a link to an archive of your posts or links to your 10 most recent posts.
