Site History

The domain, jakeepstein.net, was purchased in late November by Keira (webmaster) with the intent of creating a Jake Epstein Fansite, but this was not where the idea first started. While looking through the listed fanlistings at The Fanlistings Network, Keira found that there was no approved Jake Epstein fanlisting. So, being a huge fan of Jake, she filled out an application. The next day she got an email saying she was approved.

After opening the fanlisting she started thinking about creating a place for fans to get more information about Jake online. Unable to find any up to date fansites about Jake, she decided she should to create her own. It was still a while before she decided that she would definitely be doing it but when she did she purchased the domain and moved the fanlisting onto the domain. It took a little while for Keira to officially start work on the fansite itself because of school and finals but on her Christmas holidays, between semesters she designed the layout for the site, started putting together some content for the pages, and collecting images for the photo gallery.

Keira knew that the site needed a name, other than just "Jake Epstein .Net", so in the process of collecting the information for the music page, Keira came across the title "Residual" which was a song written by Jake for Episode 303, "U Got the Look," for Degrassi: The Next Generation. The word residual is defined as left over or remaining.
